DRIVING THE GREEN TRANSITION: ALTA PLASTICS JOINS VIETNAM ECO-LABEL STRATEGY CONSULTATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT
Amid rising pressures from climate change and plastic pollution, transitioning to eco-labeled packaging is no longer optional—it is an essential direction for the packaging industry. As a pioneer in green transformation, Alta Plastics actively participated in the Consultation and Information Session on Vietnam’s Eco-Label Program in Ho Chi Minh City, hosted by the Department of Environment, reaffirming its strong commitment to sustainability and corporate responsibility.

Vietnam’s packaging industry is experiencing impressive growth—between 15% and 20% annually. However, this boom also brings a serious downside: a surge in plastic waste, overfilled landfills, and fragmented collection systems. Single-use plastics such as bags and containers remain widespread despite their environmental toll.
Against this backdrop, green transition is becoming an urgent mandate—not only for packaging manufacturers but for the entire production-consumption ecosystem. Vietnam’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, as pledged at COP26, further underlines the immediate need to shift toward environmentally friendly packaging models.
A key solution lies in the development and adoption of eco-labeled packaging—products that meet environmental safety criteria and support sustainable consumption patterns. This is why Alta Plastics took part in the Ministry’s consultation, bringing valuable insight as an active industry player.
Organized by the Department of Environment (Ministry of Agriculture and Environment), the Vietnam Eco-Label Consultation served as a practical forum for dialogue between policymakers and businesses across manufacturing, packaging, retail, and logistics. The program aimed to update enterprises on upcoming policies, gather feedback to refine evaluation criteria, and accelerate green production and consumption.

Alta Plastics’ products have been certified with the Vietnam Eco-Label
An eco-label certifies that a product meets stringent environmental criteria throughout its life cycle—from materials and production to use and disposal. It helps consumers make informed choices and incentivizes businesses to innovate in eco-friendly materials and technologies.
Representing the industry’s progressive voice, Alta Plastics shared practical insights from its sustainability journey, emphasizing its pioneering role in researching and implementing eco-friendly packaging—from recyclable to biodegradable materials that align with eco-label standards.
The company also openly addressed challenges faced by packaging manufacturers and proposed actionable recommendations—ranging from government support mechanisms to public awareness campaigns. Alta’s presentation received positive attention, reinforcing its commitment to Vietnam’s national goals for green economy and responsible consumption.
Beyond policy dialogues, Alta Plastics is already deploying concrete solutions to bring its sustainable vision to life. Its biodegradable packaging lines are designed to naturally decompose, meeting strict eco-label criteria while remaining safe and appealing to modern consumers.

Alta Plastics is committed to applying advanced technologies in its green transition journey
Alta is also a leader in integrating smart technologies into environmental initiatives, most notably through the GreeZ Station system—part of the company’s flagship GREENfinity project. These smart stations automatically identify, sort, and collect used plastic bottles and aluminum cans. Every contribution is rewarded through a points system, redeemable for vouchers, encouraging community engagement in recycling and green living.
Collected plastic bottles from GreeZ Stations are cleaned and processed into recycled raw materials for 3D printing of eco-friendly products. These items are not only functional and aesthetic but are also recyclable multiple times without losing material integrity—helping establish a true closed-loop production model.
Through continuous research, innovation, and practical application, Alta Plastics is positioning itself as a pioneer in the green transformation of Vietnam’s packaging industry. From developing eco-labeled products and launching GreeZ Stations, to 3D printing with recycled plastic, Alta is delivering sustainable value to both the environment and its business partners—while inspiring systemic change across the industry.
Alta Plastics is proud to stand alongside Vietnam on the path to sustainable development—where packaging is not just a product, but a symbol of green commitment, responsible consumption, and innovation for the planet.
