Amid Ho Chi Minh City’s push for green economic growth and stricter control of plastic waste pollution, the 5th Ho Chi Minh City Environment Awards have become a prestigious milestone recognizing pioneers in urban environmental protection. This year, Alta Plastics—a manufacturer of recycled and biodegradable plastic packaging—was honored with the Third Prize, affirming the company’s steadfast commitment to a sustainable development strategy.
The Ho Chi Minh City Environment Awards, initiated by the People’s Committee, aim to honor individuals, organizations, and enterprises with outstanding contributions to environmental protection, the promotion of green lifestyles, and sustainable growth.
On June 27, 2025, the 5th awards ceremony took place as part of “Environment Action Month,” with the attendance of senior city leaders including the Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee, the Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, representatives from the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and members of the press.
This year’s program awarded 25 organizations and 3 individuals across First, Second, and Third Prize categories. The winners included enterprises, socio-political organizations, schools, and community groups implementing innovative green and clean models.

Among the participating businesses, Alta Plastics – A Chau Lac Plastic Technology Application Co., Ltd. – was honored with the Third Prize, marking its reputation as a trusted enterprise in the plastic packaging industry with a focus on green production and resource circularity.
This prestigious award is a clear testament to Alta Plastics’ long-term commitment to technological innovation and optimizing production processes toward environmental sustainability. For over 20 years, the company has consistently invested in eco-friendly packaging production lines while applying advanced technologies to promote recycling and protect natural resources.
In recent years, Alta Plastics has accelerated the rollout of its Recycle Depot system, branded as GreeZ Station under the GREEnfinity project. This groundbreaking initiative integrates waste segregation at source with the collection and classification of used plastic bottles and aluminum cans. Through a point-accumulation mechanism that allows users to redeem vouchers, the project helps instill sustainable living habits within urban communities.
All plastic bottles collected at GreeZ Stations are processed and transformed by Alta Plastics into raw materials for 3D printing practical consumer products such as keychains, office supplies, multipurpose storage boxes, and household items. With user-friendly and creative designs, these products raise awareness of plastic’s life cycle and the value of proper recycling.
The GREEnfinity project and its 3D-printed products not only reduce the burden of plastic waste on the environment but also introduce a closed-loop circular model—where citizens, technology, and businesses together contribute to material regeneration, paving the way for a greener, cleaner, and more modern city.
