Plastic pollution has emerged as one of the most pressing global environmental issues in recent years. In Vietnam, plastic waste continues to surge, while recycling infrastructure and public awareness remain limited—posing significant threats to ecosystems and hindering long-term sustainable development.

Faced with these challenges, green transition and the circular economy have become imperative, particularly for major urban centers like Ho Chi Minh City. However, this transformation cannot be achieved in isolation—it requires collaboration among businesses, governments, and international partners.

With that spirit, the 7th Ho Chi Minh City – Hyogo (Japan) Economic Forum 2025 was organized to strengthen Vietnam–Japan cooperation in technology, environmental innovation, and sustainability. Committed to contributing to a more sustainable future, Alta Plastics was honored to participate and present practical solutions to Vietnam’s environmental and green transition challenges.

The 7th Ho Chi Minh City – Hyogo (Japan) Economic Forum 2025 attracted strong interest from numerous businesses

The Forum is a bilateral initiative jointly organized by the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee and the Hyogo Prefectural Government (Japan), coordinated by the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC). This year’s edition took place during the working visit of Hyogo’s government and business delegation to Vietnam, gathering nearly 30 Japanese companies in sectors including manufacturing, banking, logistics, and technology.

With the theme “Green and Digital Transformation Trends – Towards Sustainable Development Goals,” the event was held on August 5, 2025, at the Rex Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City. It aimed to share best practices in green growth, facilitate trade and investment networking, and foster technological collaboration between enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City and Hyogo Prefecture.

This was a valuable opportunity for leading businesses like Alta Plastics to present sustainable development models, engage with potential Japanese partners, and exchange ideas on recycling solutions, environmental technology, and digital transformation toward a circular economy.

Alta Plastics showcased sustainable initiatives at the event

At the Forum, Alta Plastics introduced its “Green Booth”—a showcase of eco-friendly technologies and products, reflecting the company’s strong commitment to green transition and a circular economic model.

A standout highlight was the company’s 3D printing technology using recycled plastic materials—an important breakthrough in realizing circular production and green transformation. Notably, the input materials are repurposed from used plastic bottles collected at the GreeZ Station, part of Alta Plastics’ GREEnfinity environmental project.

The GreeZ Station features automated recognition, sorting, and collection of empty plastic bottles and aluminum cans, offering a user-friendly, transparent recycling experience. Each user contribution is rewarded via a point accumulation system, turning environmental actions into tangible value.

Collected plastic bottles undergo a closed-loop treatment process to produce high-quality 3D printing filament. Through this, Alta Plastics transforms plastic waste into creative, functional, and distinctive products—from decorative items and souvenirs to educational tools and office utilities.

Importantly, the 3D printed products from Alta Plastics are not only user-friendly in design but also highly recyclable, retaining consistent quality across multiple life cycles. This significantly extends material lifespan, minimizes waste, and optimizes resource use.

Building on this technological foundation, Alta Plastics has successfully developed a closed-loop recycling model, where every used plastic bottle can re-enter the production cycle in a new form. This model not only creates economic value for businesses but also demonstrates a strong sense of environmental and social responsibility.

Additionally, Alta Plastics presented its eco-friendly biodegradable packaging line—a key solution developed to replace conventional plastic packaging, reduce waste burden, and promote sustainable consumption.

These packaging products are made from BIO pellets, BIO Recycle pellets, and biodegradable additives—all environmentally safe materials capable of decomposing naturally without toxic residues, aligning with modern green standards.

Alta Plastics offers a wide range of packaging in various designs, colors, and sizes, customizable to meet customer needs. With attributes such as durability, visual appeal, safety, and sustainability, the company’s biodegradable packaging is becoming the ideal choice for businesses pursuing green growth and corporate social responsibility.

Alta Plastics’ participation in the 7th Ho Chi Minh City – Hyogo (Japan) Economic Forum 2025 was not only a platform to showcase its innovations and technologies, but also a reaffirmation of its long-term commitment to sustainable development. From biodegradable packaging to 3D printing with recycled plastics, Alta Plastics continues to deliver on its promise of environmental stewardship, promoting recycling, and supporting communities in their green transition journey.

Through this forum, Alta Plastics aims to expand collaboration with Japanese and international partners, share green initiatives, explore emerging technologies, and jointly build a future where economy and environment thrive in harmony.
